There is something attractive in cold steel … Every man experiences its magic influence making everyone admire its vulturous curve of sharp blade, its shimmering cold brilliance. Every the most peaceful person can hardly refuse himself in pleasure of buying a beautiful and reliable knife.

Almost two centuries ago one of metallurgy settlements of the Urals city of Zlatoust became the center of production of decorated cold steel. Due to exceptional steel strength and resiliency Zlatoust fighting blades gained their glory not only on battlefields, but at World exhibitions of metallurgy achievements.

The school of decorated cold steel famous thanks to legendary armourer Ivan Bushuev, which is nowadays known as Zlatoust steel engraving, absorbed all the best techniques of Solingen and Toledo, Tula and Caucasus. The masterpieces by Zlatoust artists- armourers are kept in collections of the largest museums of Russian and Europe.

Works by art studio «ART-GRANI» — is recognition of craftsmanship of many generations of Zlatous armourers. Traditions supported by up-to-date technologies allow our craftsmen create their own style maintaining the highest level of work. For example, stiletto “Liza” was recognized the best work of jewelry of 2002, received Grand Prix in competition «Prize of recognition by press», won nomination «Decorated cold steel» (Moscow International Exhibition «Jeweller-2003»); stiletto «Trilliant» is the winner of nomination «Collection weapon» of Moscow International Exhibition «Jeweller-2002», and declared the best decoration of 2003 at Exhibition of Jewelry «Saint-Petersburg Recognition» (2003); knife «Empire» won diploma for the 1st place in nomination « Highly artistic works of cold steel » at All-Russia Exhibition «Traditions and Art of Blade ».

Cold steel made by artists and armourers of «ART-GRANI» are well-known among professional armourers and connoisseur of contemporary art. Every work by studio «ART-GRANI» is individual; it has its own “face”: strict beauty distinguishes stilettos «Klin», «Trilliant»; a lady’s grace is stressed by stilettos «Liza», «Rita»; oriental luxury is inherent in dagger «Bebut», knives «Asia», «Bakhor»; nobility and power are very much about paired knives «Vlasteliny», «Duplet»; the name of “Khishchny” (“Vulturous”) speaks for itself. Daggers “Peter I” and “Nagradnoy” are manufactured in conformity with the best traditions of decorated arms. Craftsman-generated idea characterizes future owner of the weapon, reflects its character futures, his needs and wishes. Individuality is emphasized by application of portrait image, monogram, emblem, logo or other symbols.

The best grades of Zlatoust high-alloy steel, patterned damask steel of blacksmith welding and unique stainless Damascus “bulat” is used for manufacture of cold steel. It makes the arms not just functional but responding to the most sophisticated demands. For decoration we use silver and gold, valuable wood species, gemstones. We employ such production methods as lacquer painting, etching, engraving a with cutting tool, steel darkening, nickel-plating, silvering, gilding, artistic wood treatment.

Purposely for 300th anniversary of Saint-Petersburg we produced daggers “Peter I”, “Baltika”, “Nagradnoy”, “Zolotoye oruzhiye”, decorated with symbols of this magnificent city.
